Open Process Automation™ Business Guide - Synopsis

Presenter

TBD

The Open Process Automation™ Forum seeks to create a technologically-appropriate, open standards-based architecture and specifications for the Process Automation Industry. The Forum is promoting its just published Business Guide to promoting understanding, adoption and widespread use.  A standards-based, open process automation architecture will enable easy integration of best-in-class components, accelerate the development of applications with a common configuration and information model, and enable portability of code with platform independence. Gene and Darren have been leading the development of the Business Guide which describes the business problem being addressed, the ecosystem and stakeholders and describes the benefits to be attained. The Forum is composed of a broad group of end users, product suppliers and system integrators.  Critical to its success, the Forum will protect the intellectual property of the suppliers. Wherever possible, the Forum will integrate existing and emerging industry standards.  For the set of standards to work, the Forum will develop a framework to produce products and services that are commercially successful for end users, suppliers, and system integrators.
