"Trust/Confidence Model aand Requirements for a Trust Ecosystem"
You are here: Security Forum > trust management

Welcome to the Trust Management project home page.

Objective

The objective of this project is to support development of trust/confidence in online operations - primarily in the areas of Trusted Identities (because being confident in knowing who you are dealing with online is critical to doing business online), and Information Protection (because you want to protect your online information so it is only available to permitted users and will be self-protecting as far as is possible.  The Scurity Forum is intersted in collaborating with other industry groups on these aspects of Trust Management.

Activities to Date

  • Jan 2014: Trust Ecosystem white paper, W141, https://www2.opengroup.org/ogsys/catalog/W141 Describes the requirements for a trusted environment in which Smart Data (see The Open Group White Paper W140) can realize the full potential for exercising its data-centric protection features and capabilities. In today's Cloud Computing and other globally distributed environments, we can no longer know where our data might be located or in whose hands it may rest. Operating in a trust ecosystem maintains optimum protection over the data, thereby maintaining its business value as usable as intended but protected from misuse.
