The Open Group TOGAF Security Project
"Integrating security architecture into the next version of the TOGAF standard"
You are here: Security Forum > TSP

Welcome to the TOGAF and Security Architecture project Website.

The Security Forum has for many years wanted to promote its interests in integrating architecting of information security into the TOGAF standard.  The overall goal of this Security Forum NVTS project is to propose how to fully integrate security and risk management into enterprise-level architectures, by highlighting key points in the TOGAF ADM where architecting security, including risk management, is a critical input to the architecture being developed.

Curent Activity

The current TOGAF next-version security project (TNSP) is revising its Dec 2005 Guide to Security Architecture in TOGAF® ADM, in a new structure with the objective of making it more compatible with and therefore easier to integrate into TOGAF.  As a current development activity, information on this project is restricted to TNSP project members only.

If you are interested and would like to become involved you can find information on membership here, and can talk to us about your interest here.

Dec 2005: Guide to Security Architecture in the TOGAF® ADM, W055,
https://www2.opengroup.org/ogsys/catalog/W055
This online publication was developed in a joint Security Forum and Architecture Forum project.  The goal of this White Paper was to explain what security considerations need to be addressed in the TOGAF ADM for the guidance of enterprise architects and system designers. Its primary purpose was as input to the Architecture Forum, for integrating security considerations into their development of the next version of TOGAF (designated TOGAF9), including advice on when to engage with Security Architect specialists during developing their enterprise architectures. It was also expected to be of value to system architects and designers who include information security considerations in their designs.  In practice this guidance was added to TOGAF9 as its Chapter 21 with a few other parts in Chapter 35, whereas the primary intention and expectation of the Security Forum members was that the links into when and how to engage with Security Architect specialists should be integrated in the each relevant phase of the ADM.
