Check out our microservices architecture white paper!

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a style of IT architecture that delivers agility and Boundaryless Information Flow™. It is deployed on an increasing scale in enterprises today.

The SOA Work Group exists to develop and foster common understanding of SOA in order to facilitate alignment between the business and information technology communities.

The main public site contains the main body of public information about the Work Group and SOA, including information on how to join the Work Group.

The Open Group SOA Standards and Guides are included in the SOA Source Book and are available from The Open Group Bookstore. Visit our SOA Standards Discussion Forum to find out more about our Standards and Guides, or to ask questions. Here you can find links to presentations, webinars, and tutorials explaining our standards and how to use them.

This site contains some additional public information:

  • Information about the Work Group;
  • Information about public Open Group meetings on SOA;
  • Drafts of Open Group SOA standards and guides that are made public as snapshots; and
